Desk Sceen shot?

How do you take one? i tried pressing "prt sc" and pasted it on MS paint but nothing happened. When i used my old laptop which has "prt sc sys rq" it worked.... i'm really confused... Any help would be greatly appreciated, THANK YOU! : )
