Bought my gf a 2.5 million volt stun gun by cheetah for self-defense. How effective are they?

I saw some you tube videos after I bought one online and I thought they would be more effective then that. Would the cheetah 2.5 million volt be helpful in self-defense? How long would it take over clothes to completely immobilize the attacker?
