Back to work session at jobcentre (uk)?

i am 21 i have recently been made redundant! i have worked since i was bloody 15 now i have to go to the jobcentre in stoke on trent hanley where all the dirty scabby smack heads stand outside just standing ready to nick your bag of you for your next fix....... sorry make me so mad !!!!! but i have been asked to go for a back to work session but i have a 9 month old can i take him because i have no family around me and my husband works and im not leaving him with just any babysitter??????
